With Valentine’s Day near, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has warned against misusing banknotes in cash bouquets or decorative displays. Folding, stapling, gluing, or defacing currency can damage notes, disrupt ATMs, and increase replacement costs. While giving cash as a gift is allowed, CBK urges Kenyans to avoid altering notes and use safer, non-damaging ways to present money.
