Newly elected officials of the Dock Workers Union of Kenya are calling on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to fast-track investigations into the alleged embezzlement of Sh82 million belonging to the union. The new leadership, which took office on August 13, 2026, says the alleged loss occurred before it assumed office and has already been reported to authorities. Newly elected General Secretary Abubakar Abdullahi says the union will conduct a comprehensive audit of its Bandari DT SACCO, ABSA and Housing Finance accounts to establish the organisation’s financial position and identify any other irregularities.
