Speaking during her burial in Awendo Sub County, Migori County, family members and church leaders called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to expedite the probe and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
Anne's father, Braine Odhiambo, described the pain of losing his only daughter and appealed to the government to act swiftly so the family can find closure. According to the post-mortem report, Anne died from suffocation and multiple internal injuries after she was found dead in her hostel room on July 7, 2026.
