The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya has kicked off the process of enacting the country’s first Internal Audit Bill. The proposed law is expected to strengthen governance, accountability, and risk management across public and private institutions. Approved by the global governing body, IIA Global, the initiative also positions Kenya as a continental case study under the African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors’ model law campaign. If passed, the Internal Audit Bill will provide Kenya with a landmark legal framework that anchors the profession in law and aligns it with global best practice.
