The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has complained of frustrations from the police in the inquest into the death of Rex Masai during the anti-government demonstrations of June 2024. Lawyers representing IPOA told the court today that police officers from Parliament, KICC, Kamukunji and Kilimani police stations had not recorded statements over the death, despite an active court order compelling them to do so. Lawyers representing the National Police Service said most of the officers who were on duty at the time had either been transferred or had since left the service.
