Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), in partnership with the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the Pan-Africa Bean Research Alliance (PABRA) and the Alliance of Bioversity International, is training farmers on innovative bean farming practices to address climate change, pests and diseases.
The initiative is promoting the high-yielding ‘Waithera’ bean variety, developed by KALRO, across Nakuru, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Bomet and Elgeyo Marakwet counties, targeting 20,000 farmers.
