Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe is calling for a major transformation of Kenya’s agricultural sector through increased investment in irrigation, value addition, technology and youth participation.
Speaking in Mombasa during the fifth joint consultative meeting involving the national and county governments and the World Bank, Kagwe said Kenya must reduce its dependence on rain-fed agriculture as climate change, drought, pests and unpredictable rainfall continue to threaten food production.
