More than 120 tobacco farmers from Tagare Ward in Kuria West Sub-County, Migori County, are appealing to both the national and county governments to help them recover payments they claim are owed by East Obac Kenya Limited. Speaking on behalf of the affected farmers, Kevin Rioba alleged that the farmers have been supplying tobacco to the company since 2023 without receiving payment. He accused the company's director, Richard Chiromo, a Zimbabwean national, of making repeated promises to pay that have not been fulfilled.
