The government has been urged to go beyond increasing access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and build a complete pipeline that takes women from the classroom into research, entrepreneurship, investment and technology leadership.
Speaking during the opening of the second edition of the Women in Technology and Innovation Africa Summit, leaders warned that Africa risks remaining a consumer of technology unless it creates opportunities for young women to develop solutions to the continent’s economic and social challenges.
