He was the co-founder of the youth lobby movement, Youth for Kanu ‘92, that supported President Daniel arap Moi’s reelection bid in 1992 following the return of multi-partyism. Cyrus Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo, a two-time Member of Parliament for Lugari Constituency, also served as Minister for Rural Development in President Moi’s government. As we take a look at his life and times, the late Jirongo will also be remembered as having given the presidency a shot in 2017.
