The National Police Service is on the Spot regarding 4 stalled projects , with the auditor general’s report pointing to abandoned construction works ,significant financial irregularities and breached contractual agreements. Appearing before the Public Accounts Committee, Bernice Lemedeket the accounting officer for the National Police Service was hard pressed to explain why a 2 Storey building of 24 Units project that initially cost 64 Million shilling was re-tendered for 114 million shillings. This is despite the initial contractor having been paid 23 Million shillings for the project that was only 35% complete. Abdiaziz Hashim has that story.
