President William Ruto has nominated Canon Dr. Ida Odinga, the widow of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, as Kenya`s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). If approved by Parliament, Ida will replace Ababu Namwamba, who was reassigned as Kenya`s High Commissioner to Uganda.
