Religious leaders have identified key risks to the 2027 General Election, including goonism, institutional capture, ethnic polarisation and the exclusion of women, youth and persons with disabilities. The leaders, drawn from the National Council of Churches of Kenya, the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya and SUPKEM, have cautioned Kenyans against worshipping money. They have also committed to restricting politicians’ access to religious platforms and promoting a campaign of anonymised giving.
