Young people across Kenya and Africa have been challenged to take an active role in leadership, governance, and peacebuilding. Speaking during the opening of the 7th Regional Youth in Action (YIA) Forum in Nairobi, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya urged youth to seize opportunities, seek accurate information, and participate in decision-making processes to help shape their future.
Salasya emphasized that leadership is driven by vision and service rather than age or financial resources, while calling on African governments to strengthen digital rights, protect freedom of expression, and invest in digital infrastructure to expand opportunities for young people.
