Kenya Union of Clinical Officers has criticized the Social Health Authority (SHA) board for its failure to register over 1,000 health facilities that offer primary health care across the country and which are manned by clinical officers. Speaking during the Kenya Clinical Officer's Association Scientific Conference in Mombasa KUCO National Chairman Peterson Wachira noted that the health centres which fall under the Kenya Clinical Officers Council were previously accredited by the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). KUCO at the same time claims that the roll out of SHA has been rushed and wants the transition to take at least six months to avoid the current crisis in the health sector.
