PROTECTING WOMEN
Gender advocates in Migori County have called for enhanced funding to strengthen the fight against gender-based violence. .While lauding the formation of a task force to formulate policy and legal framework to deal with femicide, the gender activists expressed optimism that the renewed interventions by government will significantly contribute to the ongoing battle war on GBV. They however raised concerns over the poor remuneration of healthcare workers who are at times crucial witnesses in GBV cases and are unable to attend court hearings due to lack of transportation and other resources.
