Kiamaiko-Huruma clashes leave several injured, traders shut down shops

Tension remains high in Nairobi’s Huruma estate following a day of violence reported in the residential estate and surrounding areas. The violence has interrupted transport and business activities along sections of the outer ring road as factions of armed youth fight each other. Businesses remained closed, and business owners are appealing to the national police service to rein in criminal gangs, which are allegedly behind the violence reported in affected areas.
