MAUA TALANTA STUDIO WINS SH1M TUJIAMINI GOLD AWARD

Maua Talanta Studio, a creative collective from Maua Town, has been crowned the Eastern Region Tujiamini Gold Award winner, bagging Sh1 million from SportPesa’s Tujiamini initiative. The group, comprising musicians, producers, DJs, comedians, and content creators, was recognised for It's resilience and contribution to nurturing grassroots talent. Founded in 2017 and later registered as a self-help group in 2018, Maua Talanta began with the vision of providing local creatives with access to quality production services without travelling over 60 kilometres to Meru or Nairobi. Despite facing challenges such as inadequate equipment, a lack of studio space, and limited funding, the The team persisted in its mission. Their breakthrough came in June 2025 when they applied for the Tujiamini programme, which supports grassroots talent with funding and visibility. Their inspiring story won them the top prize.
