Separate rallies mark Malava by-election campaigns

A faction supporting the DAPK parliamentary candidate in the upcoming Malava by-election, led by Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale and DAPK deputy party leader George Natembeya, drummed up support for their candidate even as they alleged that their rivals are planning to cause chaos on election day to intimidate their supporters. The UDA camp, led by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, however, dismissed the claims, saying the opposition has panicked. Meanwhile, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has warned that anyone attempting to cause violence during the by-elections scheduled for the 28th of this month will face dire consequences.
