Ruto orders KEMSA to end drug stockouts

President William Ruto has directed KEMSA to end the perennial drug shortage in public hospitals by supplying medicines directly to health facilities, instead of county stores. Blaming the drug stockout on the bureaucracies in the distribution of drugs, the president ordered the state medical supplies agency to ensure a 95 percent refill rate by December. President Ruto, who was speaking in Loglogo, Marsabit County, also defended his plan to establish a national infrastructure fund to raise funds for road construction across the country.
