Mulatu Astatke is known as the father of Ethio-jazz – and for changing the face of Ethiopian music during the so-called ‘Swinging Addis’ years of the 1960s and 70s.
Now, at the age of 81, he’s decided to retire from performing, playing his farewell show in London.
