Man dies after alleged assault by assistant chief

A family from Enchoro village in Nyamira County is appealing for justice for their kin, who died weeks after he was allegedly assaulted by a government official. 39-year-old Eric Mokaya sustained injuries in December, after he was allegedly attacked by the area assistant chief, on allegations of transporting illicit brew. The accused administrator has, however, denied the allegations, saying that Mokaya fled and might have sustained injuries elsewhere. Medical records show that the 39-year-old died from blunt force trauma that fractured his skull.
