A coalition of human rights organizations, lawyers, and health professionals has strongly condemned the government’s decision to charge dozens of arrested protesters with terrorism. Many of those who were arrested during the June 25th and Saba Saba demonstrations are now facing what advocates call state-sanctioned abuse aimed at silencing dissent. Protesters who have been released on bail narrated acts of torture while indicating that many of them are helpless as they cannot post the high bail.
