Auditor General : Shs 54 million in Taita Taveta County unaccounted for

The Auditor General now reveals that 54 million shillings for the financial year 24/25 in Taita Taveta County could not be confirmed due to what the Governor Andrew Mwadime-led executive termed as a systemic error. This emerged before the County Public Investment Committee, where the auditor general established that the county executive paid 732 Million Shillings to Coast Water Works for trade and other payables despite the company quoting 678 Million Shillings as their fee. The Committee has referred the matter to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC to investigate.
