The Woodcreek School Theatre in partnership with Kenya International Theatre Festival brings to you the sensational heroic story of Mekatilili wa Menza. An African Icon, who led her people against the British colonialists in the first 2 decades of the Twentieth Century. This will be told as a lively adventure story with her truly superhuman endeavours; interwoven with interesting historical facts and her cross-country journeys across Kenya.
In the spirit of celebrating our Kenyan Heroes and Heroines, and a reflection on where the fight for our liberation began, her fight for social change will feature Wangu wa Makeri, Syokimau, Senteu son of Mbatiany, Nabongo Mumia, Gor Mahia and Moraa wa Ngiti as characters in this sensational story; coming alive through great music and storytelling by The Woodcreek School Theatre Ensemble in partnership with Kenya International Theatre Festival.
