Senate opts for plenary hearing of grounds of impeaching Kericho governor Erick Mutai

The senate will conduct a plenary hearing into the impeachment motion against Kericho governor Eric Mutai. This is after the senators abandoned a proposal to establish a special committee to investigate the charges. Mutai was impeached by the county assembly of Kericho last Friday in a process he has termed as flawed. The governor is accused of gross violation of the Constitution and other laws, as well as abuse of office.
