A report by the Institute of Economic Affairs has revealed a massive funding deficit for SHA; a fact that is hindering the full implementation of universal health coverage. The report shows that the three funds, the primary healthcare fund, the emergency, critical, and chronic illnesses, and the social health funds have not been funded to the full, with the three having a collective deficit of 116.1 billion shillings.
