Garissa County is set to deploy Artificial Intelligence-backed monitoring systems, smart sensors, and digital water management platforms to address persistent water challenges in arid and semi-arid counties. Water and Sanitation Principal Secretary Julius Korir says the government will use smart water technology to sustainably divert and channel water from abundance zones such as the Tana River basin to water-stressed regions to unlock socio-economic development.
