Kapsoit MCA, Paul Chirchir has been released on a 1 million shillings bond following allegations of being linked to torching of several tea farms in Kericho county. Chirchir was arraigned on Friday for allegedly aiding arson of multinational tea farms at Brooke on May 22,23 and 24 2023 leading to the loss of property worth millions of shillings. Nakuru resident magistrate, Edward Oboge however released chirchir on bond and a 200,000 cash bail stating it would be unfair and unconstitutional to detain the suspect on grounds that he failed to incriminate himself or that he may interfere with witnesses without concrete evidence.
