Mpesa conducts major update to its platform

Telco service provider Safaricom has made a significant upgrade to its mobile money service platform Mpesa. The move is aimed at expanding transaction processing capacity by 33 percent from the current 4,000 to 6,000 transactions per second. It can be scaled upwards to 12,000 transactions per second based on demand.
