Machakos MCAs receive nod to proceed with impeachment of Ann Kiusya

The Machakos county assembly has received a nod to proceed with the impeachment motion against the county assembly speaker Ann Kiusya. High court in Machakos has lifted a temporary suspension, which barred the ward representatives from removing the speaker from office. The speaker had filed a petition in march to halt the process. Majority leader Nicholas Nzioka, says a motion has been forwarded to the house business committee for tabling. Prior to the legal challenge, 33 ward representatives had signed in support of the impeachment motion.
