Kerio Valley residents surrender 27 illegal firearms in peace initiative

    Kerio Valley residents have voluntarily surrendered 27 illegal firearms, including AK-47 and G3 rifles, to police in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County. According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS) on Thursday, September 25, 2025, the weapons were handed in through cooperation with community members and Peace Committees from Ketut, Chemwonyo, Kibaimwa, Mon, Chesuman, Kaben, and Endo. This brings the total number of firearms recovered under Operation Rudisha Bunduki to 232, alongside 1,595 rounds of ammunition.
