A multi-agency security team was on Friday deployed along the volatile Gwetembe-Barrikoi border of Kuria and Transmara south to deal with inter-community clashes in the area. Speaking to Citizen TV on phone, Transmara South OCPD Charles Opondo confirmed the deployment of the reinforced team to arrest the situation along the busy border. Opondo also appealed to the residents across the border to report any incidences and the injured to the authorities to allow timely interventions. Locals want interior CS professor Kithure Kindiki to visit the area to better appreciate the causes of conflict in the area.
