'Kuwahami na kuokoa maisha ya watu wasiokuwa na hatia ni lazima iwe kipaumbele chetu'
Rais wa Marekani Joe Biden alisema Alhamisi usiku kuwa Israel lazima iruhusu msaada wa kibinadamu Huko Gaza na kuhakikisha wafanyakazi wa misaada ya kibinadamu hawajikuti katikati ya mapigano.
"Kwa uongozi wa Israel, Ninasema hivi: msaada wa kibanadamu hauwezi kuwa ni suala la kawaida au ni nyenzo ya kufikia makubaliano.
Kuwahami na kuokoa maisha ya watu wasiokuwa na hatia ni lazima iwe kipaumbele chetu,” alisema Biden.
Alieleza kuwa Jeshi la Marekani Litajenga Gati ya Muda Kuongeza Misaada ya Kibinadamu Kufika Gaza.
Jeshi la Marekani litasaidia kuweka gati ya muda katika pwani ya Gaza ikiwa ni njia ya kuongeza kufikishwa misaada kwa Wapalestina waliokwama katika eneo lililozingirwa na vita vya Israel na Hamas.
Alitangaza mpango huo wakati akitoa hotuba yake ya Hali ya Kitaifa kwa Bunge la Marekani. Hatua hiyo imekuja baada ya Biden wiki iliyopita kuidhinisha jeshi la Marekani kudondosha kutoka angani msaada huko Gaza.
Biden alisema gati hiyo ya muda “itawezesha kuongezwa msaada wa kibinadamu kwa kiwango kikubwa kufikishwa Gaza.”
Lakini wakati huo huo ametoa wito kwa Israel kuchukua hatua zaidi kuepusha mateso yanayowakabili Wapalestina hata pale majeshi yake yanapojaribu kuwatokomeza wanamgambo wa kikundi cha Hamas.
