Marekani yaitaka Haiti kufanya mageuzi ya dharura ya siasa
Siku ya Jumapili jeshi la Marekani katika taarifa limesema limefanya operesheni ya kuwaondoa wafanyakzi wote wa ubalozi wa Marekani wasio na kazi muhimu, na kwamba limeimarisha usalama kwenye ofisi za ubalozi huo.
Raia wa Marekani nchini humo waliamrishwa tangu wiki iliyopita kuondoka, hiyo ikiwa ishara ya hali kuwa mbaya zaidi nchini humo ambako mageni ya uhalifu yanataka kuiangusha serikali inayongozwa na Waziri mkuu Ariel Henry.
Henry yuko katika kisiwa cha Marekani cha Pueto Rico baada ya kushindwa kurudi Haiti kutoka Kenya ambako alitia saini mkataba wa kuruhusu kuepelekwa kwa polisi wa Kenya kukiongoza kikosi cha Usalama cha Umoja wa Mataifa.
Haijafahamika bado ikiwa waziri mkuu huyo ataweza kurudi nyumbani karibuni, ingawa Marekani imemtaka achukuwe hatua za dharura za mageuzi ya kisaiasa ili kuzuia hali kuzorota zaidi.
Siku ya Jumapili, Papa Francis pia ameongeza sauti yake kutokana na hali ya wasiwasi huko Haiti.
Papa Francis, Mkuu wa Kanisa katholiki anasema:
“Ninafuatilia nikiwa na wasi wasi na uchungu mzozo mbaya kabisa unaoathiri Haiti na kipindi cha ghasia mbaya zilziotokea siku za hivi karibuni. Ninatoa wito wa kusitishwa ghasia na amani na utulivu kurudi haraki kwa wananchi wa Haiti wanaotaabika kwa miaka mingi sasa.”
Jumuiya ya mataifa ya Caribbean, CARICOM, imewaita mawaziri wa mambo ya nje wa Marekani, Ufaransa, Canada na ujumbe wa Umoja wa Matifa kwa mkutano wa dharura na mawaziri wa jumuiya hiyo siku ya Jumatatu mjini Kingston, Jamaica kuzungumzia ghasia hizo.
Rais wa Guyana Arfaan Ali, mwenyekiti wa CARICOM hivi sasa amesema mkutano utajadili masuali tete ya kurudisha utulivu na usalama pamoja na namna ya kuwasilisha kwa dharura msaada wa dharura.
