Counties Rake in Billions from Health Sector, Duale Says

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has announced that the health sector has become a leading source of revenue for many counties, underscoring the growing reliance of Kenyans on public healthcare facilities. Speaking at Umma University in Kajiado on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Duale revealed that the government disbursed Ksh8.1 billion to hospitals this month alone, funding he said would strengthen service delivery and restore public confidence in the health system.
