University staff insist strike is still on, demand full payment of their dues

Learning in public Universities remained paralysed for yet another week with Lecturers and non-teaching staff vowing to remain on the streets until the government implements the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement in full. Addressing the Media in Nairobi on Wednesday, University Academic Staff Union Secretary General Dr. Constantine Wasonga, dismissed threats by vice chancellors for striking workers to resume work or face disciplinary action. Kenya Universities Staff Union, Secretary General Charles Mukhwaya, echoed similar sentiments, accusing the Salaries and Remuneration Commission of misleading the public over the actual amount owed to them.
