Nairobi County leading in new voter registration

Only 7,048 Kenyans have registered as new voters with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission as of Thursday evening. The statistics by the IEBC indicate Nairobi County leading with 1,597 new voters while in Lamu only one new voter had been registered. The Electoral Commission is imploring eligible Kenyans to register as voters so as to strengthen the country’s democracy and secure its future.
