Parents and caregivers of persons with cerebral palsy have urged the government to subsidize medications and improve access to therapies that promote recovery and social reintegration. During celebrations to mark the World Cerebral Palsy Day at Nambale DCC grounds, the group, led by Busia County Director of Persons with Disabilities, Metrine Wamalwa, called on the Ministry of Education to establish specialized schools for children who have severe cerebral palsy to help them build self-confidence and integrate in the society.
