The government is seeking to plant one hundred million tree seedlings across the country, with over seventy million set to be fruit tree seedlings in commemoration of Mazingira Day set for the 10th of October this year. Under the theme `citizen-centric tree growing and environmental stewardship`, the commemoration this year is taking a different approach with plans to plant tree seedlings in all the 37,570 primary schools under the rallying call `turudi primo: tukadonate fruit trees na ku-clean environment`.
