14 Counties risk facing sanctions by the senate for skipping summons and instead opting for a leisurely retreat in Kilifi. The Senate County Public Investment Committee has warned that it will petition the freezing of further funding to Lamu, Laikipia, Tharaka Nithi, Muranga, Embu, Baringo, Nandi, Siaya, Tana River, Nyandarua, Mombasa, Makueni, Elgeyo Marakwet and Kajiado counties after their governors failed to honour invites to shed light on how they utilized funds for the 2024/2025 financial year. But the governors are hitting back, claiming the committees have been turned into avenues of intimidation, extortion and harassment.
