35,000 more households are set to be connected to the national power grid, as the government scales up access to electricity for all Kenyans. This follows the launch of a 2.5 billion shilling electrification project in Kisii County led by Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi. Wandayi said the initiative will enhance rural development and boost education standards. This comes as Rural Electrification and renewable energy corporation REREC commissioned a new logistics hub in Mariakani Kilifi County.
