Eight out of 9 police officers from the disbanded special services unit of the directorate of criminal investigations have been detained for 21 days pending investigations. Kahawa law court chief magistrate Diana Mochache on Thursday ruled that the police have proved that they are investigating serious matters which need time. In her ruling, the magistrate said accused number seven Francis Ndonye was able to prove to the court that on the night of the alleged incident he was not around, Nairobi providing an alibi on the same. The suspects will be escorted for a DNA test, and they may get a pathologist but at their own expense. They will be remanded at Kileleshwa police station. Ndonye was released on a ksh500000 personal bond. Defence counsel through Danstan Omari filed an application at the high court seeking to review the lower court's decision
