95 ARRESTED, 48 PREMISES SHUT IN NAIROBI AND KAJIADO CRACKDOWN ON FAKE PHARMACEUTICAL OUTLETS – PPB

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has arrested 95 individuals and shut down 48 unlicensed pharmaceutical premises in a major enforcement operation across Nairobi and parts of Kajiado County. The week-long surveillance exercise targeted informal settlements, including Kibra, Korogocho, Eastleigh, Dandora, Mathare, Embakasi, Nairobi West, and Rongai. According to PPB officials, 155 premises were inspected, with 95 found non-compliant, resulting in arrests. The suspects have already been presented in various courts, including Kibra, Makadara, and Kajiado law courts, pending prosecution under the law.
