Technology experts, innovators and human rights advocates are calling for development of African-led innovations that safeguard fundamental freedoms, inclusion and accountability. This was the clarion call during the Afrotech 2026 forum held in Nairobi under the theme "Code for Human Rights." The forum highlighted the need for inclusion of young people, rural communities and marginalized groups in the digital transformation where they have space to innovate, contribute ideas and influence decisions.
