Assistant Chief Joash Omondi Ogola of Kathieno "B" Sub-location in Siaya County is being celebrated for an innovative approach to fighting crime through education. Through the Kathieno B Education Foundation, vulnerable children receive school fees support, uniforms, mentorship, and sanitary supplies, helping keep them in school and reducing dependence on illicit liquor brewing as a source of income. The initiative has significantly increased university enrollment among local youth while contributing to a decline in crime and illegal alcohol production. More than 2,000 students attended an education and mentorship forum at Bar Ndege, where leaders and stakeholders highlighted the program's impact on academic performance, community development, and security.
