Kenya Aviation Workers Union has issued a seven-day strike notice effective July 20, warning of a nationwide industrial action involving workers at the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, Kenya Airports Authority, Kenya Airways and Jambojet.
The union accuses the four agencies of repeatedly violating collective bargaining agreements, alleging unfair disciplinary processes at Kenya Airways and victimisation of unionised staff at Jambojet. KAWU has urged the parties to resolve the dispute within seven days or risk widespread disruption to the country's aviation sector.
