Visiting Bahrain made the perfect start to their tour of Kenya, securing a 15-run victory over Kenya in the opening T20 cricket match. Bahrain won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a target of 159 runs. The visitors got off to a poor start, with captain Asif Ali dismissed for a duck after facing nine balls. Player of the Match Faiz Ahmed anchored the innings with 88 runs off 49 balls, hitting 13 boundaries, including eight fours and five sixes. Prashant Kurup added 33 runs, with only three Bahrain batsmen reaching double figures. Chasing 160 for victory, Kenya captain Dhiren Gondaria top-scored with 73 runs off 49 balls before being run out. Subham Patel (12) and Sachin Gill (14) were the only other Kenyan batsmen to reach double figures as the hosts finished on 144 for eight in their 20 overs. The two teams meet again at Nairobi Gymkhana on Saturday for the second match of the four-match series.
