Five years ago, the BBC reported that Nigeria was in the grip of a kidnapping epidemic. Today, the situation appears worse and kidnapping for ransom no longer differentiates between the rich or poor in Nigeria. The BBC has spoken with kidnap victims, who share experiences of how they were dehumanised. In some cases, kidnap victims are killed when ransom payments are delayed. 🎤 Reporters: Chris Ewokor & Todah Opeyemi 🎥 🎞️ Filming & editing: Ifiok Ettang & James Emmanuel 🎬 Producer: Caleb Ojewale Subscribe: http://bit.ly/subscribetoafrica Website: https://www.bbc.com/africa Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bbcnewsafrica/ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/bbcafrica/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bbcafrica/
