Still on the Harambee Stars, coach Benni McCarthy has called up five new players from Europe for the upcoming friendly matches against Palestine and Kyrgyzstan on June 3rd and June 6th during the FIFA international window. Only five players from the Kenya Premier League are in the squad, with four coming from league leaders Gor Mahia and one from Tusker FC.
Defenders Deon Woodman from Wealdstone and Sydney Agina from Stoke City in the United Kingdom have earned their first call-ups. Woodman’s teammate Micah Obiero has also been included, alongside winger Sammy Hena-Kamau of Hull City in the UK. Goalkeeper Caleb Kramer from Dutch side ADO Den Haag has also received his first senior call-up. The 19-year-old previously featured for the Kenya Under-20 team but did not make the final squad.
The KPL players called up are goalkeeper Byrne Omondi, defenders Sylvester Owino and Frank Odhiambo, and midfielder Ben-Stanley Omondi, all from Gor Mahia, as well as midfielder Chris Erambo of Tusker FC.
